Právo (Right) is the successor to the central organ of communist Czechoslovakia, Rudé právo (Red Right). This serious newspaper, the country's second largest in terms of circulation, is decidedly left-wing and closely aligned with the social democrats. For a long time it was the only paper in the hands of Czech publishers. Its main shareholder is its editor-in-chief Zdeněk Porybný. The paper's website novinky.cz has surprisingly high visitor figures.
