The free paper 20 Minutos is distributed on weekdays in the Spain's major cities and according to surveys is currently the country's most widely read newspaper. It was founded in 2000 under the name Madrid y m@s. In the following year the Norwegian media company Schibsted purchased a majority stake in its publisher and changed its name to 20 Minutos. In 2015 it was taken over by Spanish company Grupo Henneo, which also publishes the Heraldo de Aragón.
