24 Sata was launched in 2005 as the first tabloid on Croatia's newspaper market. Its publisher is the Austrian Styria Media Group. With its consistent sensationalism and conservativism the paper became the market leader within a year of its launch and is still Croatia's most widely read and highest-circulation newspaper today. In 2022, 24 Sata had a market share of around 30 to 40 percent of the daily newspaper segment. Its website also occupies a leading position in its segment, but its TV channel closed down in 2014, only five years after it was launched.
