This liberal financial paper was founded in 1989 as a subsidiary of the Swedish media group Bonnier and was the first business paper in the area formerly occupied by the Soviet Union. It represents the views of employers and leading economic experts. There is also an online version in Russian and the newspaper has its own radio program. The Äripäev subscription is significantly more expensive than other daily newspapers. Äripäev was the first Estonian newspaper to discontinue its print edition at the end of 2022. Its online content is only available to paying subscribers. This model has been a commercial success so far so far (as of the end of 2023).
