Agos is the weekly of Turkey's Armenian minority and has been printed in Turkish and Armenian since 1996. Despite its low circulation it is considered an important publication that openly discusses sensitive topics. Its editor-in-chief Hrant Dink was persecuted for years by nationalist forces within Turkish society and the Turkish judiciary. In 2007 he was shot dead outside the paper's editorial offices.
