Politician and founder of Reporters without Borders Robert Ménard launched the online magazine Boulevard Voltaire in 2012. The website publishes opinion pieces from more than 400 voluntary commentators and essayists of all stripes. Ménard's close ties to the Rassemblement National and the fact that he became Mayor of Béziers with its help in 2014 mean that the magazine's autonomy is often called into question.
