Founded in 1978, the daily Cinco Días is the oldest business newspaper in Spain. Since 1989 it has belonged to the media group Prisa (El País, As), which traditionally has had a socialist bent. The website now shares its editorial department with El País, the head of the economy department is editor-in-chief of Cinco Días.
