In 2010 journalists and former members of the editing team at Romanian news website Hotnews launched the Contributors portal, where experts and journalists analyse and comment on current affairs. The aim was to establish a communication platform outside of a media landscape driven by political interests, and also to provide space where academic essays can be published. The contributors publish their content there free of charge.
