Der Nordschleswiger is the online newspaper for Denmark's German minority. It was founded as a weekly paper in 1946 and became a daily paper published six days a week in 1952. On 2 February 2021 it went completely digital and all its content is now published online on the website nordschleswiger.dk. The publisher is the Bund Deutscher Nordschleswiger. It is the only news website in Denmark whose entire content is available for free, without paywalls or subscription obligations. The outlet is mainly financed by a combination of funding from the German state and Danish subsidies. Der Nordschleswiger's newsroom produces a short German-language radio news programme twice a day which is aired on a private station and posted on the website.
