Figyelő

Figyelő was a weekly pro-government magazine owned by the media foundation Közép-Európai Sajtó-és Média Alapítvány (KESMA). In the past, Figyelö was viewed in Hungary as an economically liberal, independent print publication that kept moderate left and right-wing people of the upper middle and upper classes up to date on current affairs. The director of Budapest's House of Terror Museum, Mária Schmidt, bought the magazine in December 2016, and after that the weekly newspaper only distributed content that corresponded to government narratives. In 2019, Schmidt transferred ownership of the weekly to the KESMA media foundation. The publication of the print version of Figyelő as well as its website was discontinued indefinitely in June 2022.
