Handelsblatt is the widest circulation German-language business and financial paper, and obligatory reading for the stock exchanges in Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. It has been published in tabloid format since 2009. Handelsblatt holds conferences, seminars and various competitions related to business topics. In February 2018 Handelsblatt dismissed its publisher, managing director and co-owner Gabor Steingart, reportedly owing to differences of opinion regarding journalistic standards and the strategic plans for the Handelsblatt Media Group.
