Hotnews

In 1999 a group of journalists founded a website which was initially conceived as a Romanian media press review. In 2001 the team began to also publish investigative pieces by journalists which mainly dealt with cases of corruption that had either not been covered at all or barely covered in other Romanian daily newspapers. In 2005 the website was rebranded Hotnews and quickly became one of Romania's best known news sites. Hotnews describes itself as politically neutral. It is also published in English and Spanish. In March 2018, the editor-in-chief and the chief coordinator of Hotnews left to set up their own news site. Hotnews belongs to Media Bit Software SRL, a company majority owned by two former journalists of the business magazine Capital.
