The Luzerner Zeitung, (formerly the Neue Luzerner Zeitung) is the largest regional newspaper in central Switzerland. The result of a merger of several regional newspapers in 1996, some of which were over 150 years old, it is distributed in some cases under a different name in the cantons of Lucerne, Zug, Obwalden, Nidwalden, and Uri. It used to belong to the NZZ Media Group. Since 2018, the Luzerner Zeitung has been part of CH Media, a joint venture between the NZZ media group and AZ Medien.
