The daily paper Information developed from the news service for underground papers of the resistance movement under German occupation. It was founded by Børge Outze on May 5, 1945, on the premises of a Danish Nazi newspaper. For a time it was owned by its employees but it is now a joint stock company, with the largest shareholders holding more than five percent of the shares being the Employees' Association of Information, the Magistrenes Pension Fund and the Friends of Information Association. The newspaper places emphasis maintaining a dialogue with its readers. The association, that has a good 450 members, was founded in 1951 to help the daily newspaper out of a financial crisis, continues to support it, and also stimulates lively debates with its readers.
