La Croix

Daily newspaper

http://www.la-croix.com/

The Catholic newspaper La Croix was initially founded as a monthly magazine in 1880 by the Assumptionists, a Catholic monastic order. It became a daily paper in 1883. Religious and social issues are prioritised, but La Croix is also known for quality reporting on politics. It has expanded its readership with an English version (introduced in 2016) and a Spanish version (introduced in 2017) as well as a weekly magazine. It launched an appeal for donations based on The Guardian's business model to finance the development of an app and a new website.
