Founded in 1946, L'Equipe is France's only daily sports paper. Since the 1980s L'Equipe has founded a number of subsidiaries, among them the weekly magazine l'Equipe. In 2012 the paper launched its own TV channel L'Equipe 21. The sports paper has been instrumental in uncovering numerous doping scandals.
