The Polish subsidiary of the German Axel Springer publishing group publishes Newsweek Polska together with the Swiss Ringier publishing group as a licensed edition of the US magazine Newsweek. The magazine is generally liberal on economic issues, and centre-left on social issues. Editor-in-Chief Tomasz Lis is one of the government's harshest critics. Newsweek Polska is among Poland's most popular news magazines.
