Novosti was founded in 1999 as the internal weekly magazine of the Serb National Council in Croatia. Since 2009 it has also been available for purchase at newsstands. In addition to focussing on issues relating to the Serb minority in Croatia this clearly left-oriented publication also deals with socio-political issues in the country as well as developments in the other states that formed part of the former Yugoslavia. Some of its articles are published in Latin and some in Cyrillic script. In 2015 the magazine's website was updated and renamed portalnovosti.hr.
