Pravda, which was the official newspaper of the Communist Party in Czechoslovakia until 1989, is Slovakia's leading centre-left newspaper today. It is read by 265,000 people on average, which is about 6 percent of the population over the age of 14. The online version of Pravda is even more popular, attracting more than two million visits per month. It is owned by the Slovak company Our Media SR and Czech entrepreneur and senator Ivo Valenta.
