Founded in 1989 the Sunday newspaper subtitles itself as “Ireland's Newspaper for Politics, Economics and Finance”. It has no sports section. A decline in sales and advertising revenues took the paper to the brink of ruin in 2013. New ownership and a large reduction in staff allowed the liberal paper to stay in business. In 2019 The Sunday Business Post was renamed Business Post.
