The Polish publisher Murator S.A has been publishing the tabloid Super Express since 1991. It is aimed at a predominantly conservative readership. Since 2003 it has faced fierce competition from Fakt, which belongs to the German-Swiss publishing group Ringier Axel Springer. However after initial losses Super Express recovered and is now firmly ensconced in a top market position. It likes to cast itself in the role of defender of the man on the street and is based on British tabloids.
