TVP (Telewizja Polska)

Website

http://www.tvp.pl

From 1952 to 1990 the public broadcaster TVP was Poland's only television broadcaster. Nowadays it faces tough competition, but TVP nonetheless remains the market leader in the country's television segment. After the national conservative Law and Justice Party (PiS) came to power in 2015 its news broadcasts became a propaganda instrument for the party. After the PiS was voted out of office in 2023 the new government under Donald Tusk immediately dismissed the entire TVP management team to "restore the impartiality" of the public broadcasters and formally dissolved the channel. TVP's website, tvp.info, mainly covers domestic politics.
