The well-known TV journalist Stelios Kouloglou founded the website Television Without Borders TVXS in 2008 after Greece's state broadcaster ERT ended his contract. According to Kouloglou ERT's management wasn't happy with the content of his investigative reports. TVXS publishes commentaries, political analyses and investigative reports and also encourages reader participation. It was highly critical of the former Samaras government. Kouloglou was chosen to replace MEP Giorgos Katrougalos after the latter joined the Greek government as Alternate Minister for Adminstrative Reform when Syriza won the parliamentary elections in January 2015. In the 2019 European elections, Kouloglou ran again for Syriza and was re-elected.
