Večer's readers mainly live in the northeast of Slovenia as this daily paper focuses on events in that region. It regards itself as a regional and politically neutral paper. Like all Slovenian daily newspapers, Večer has had a waning readership over the past years. After several failed attempts to sell the paper, the Dober večer company, founded in February 2014, acquired a 79 percent stake in Večer in the same year. Dober večer is now the sole owner of the paper.
