Welt am Sonntag is a national Sunday newspaper published by the Axel Springer publishing group. It was founded as a supplement to the daily Die Welt paper and has its own editorial offices. Since 2010 the Welt am Sonntag, like Welt Kompakt, has also been published in a compact format which has been available in all the German federal states since 2013. Since September 2021, Welt am Sonntag has appeared in an early edition on Saturdays which replaces the discontinued Saturday edition of Die Welt, as well as on Sundays in an updated format.
