The WochenZeitung (WOZ) was founded in 1981 and is the only independent, national left-wing weekly in German-speaking Switzerland. It stands for critical and incisive quality journalism. WOZ's highest governing body is the plenum of the cooperative infolink, which publishes WOZ and also the German edition of Le Monde diplomatique. WOZ receives funding from the ProWOZ society.
