At the end of 2015, four Romanian journalists who had left their online and television newsrooms launched the Republica.ro blog. Together with more than 350 public figures, experts, entrepreneurs, students and NGO activists they comment on and analyse current affairs. Many of the contributions tend to be conservative and economically liberal, even if Republica.ro denies having a particular political orientation. The blog content is available for free; the blog itself is financed by advertising. The four blog founders spend most of their time working for the private television channel Digi 24.
