Yeni Akit is an Islamist, conservative, pro-government newspaper. It was founded in 1993 under the name Akit but changed its name to Yeni Akit in 2010. It is known for publishing incendiary articles targeting non-Muslims, atheists, minorities and homosexuals. It is also viewed as anti-Atatürk.
