The current editors of Spotmedia had almost completed the design of the news website Ziare.com in June 2020, but then left it owing to disagreements with the publisher and Romanian entrepreneur Andrei Siminel. After their departure, they explained that the management had interfered with the journalistic content. According to the editors, their new website aims to offer quality journalism and is politically neutral. Spotmedia says it is financed by advertising revenue, grants and donations.
