OKO.press is a fact-checking website that was founded in 2016 in response to growing manipulation of the media by the PiS government. In addition to checking the accuracy of public statements, OKO.press also publishes commentaries that can generally be described as left-wing. In 2020, the website received the journalism prize from the British NGO Index on Censorship. OKO.press is financed by donations and funding programmes.
