VTimes was a media project launched by former editors of the business newspaper Vedomosti who had left the paper in summer 2020 following the arrival of a new editor-in-chief and accusations of censorship. After VTimes was listed as a "foreign agent", the editorial team decided to discontinue production in June 2021 because both its advertising and interview partners were avoiding all collaboration with the outlet.
