El Nacional is an online newspaper that was founded in Barcelona in 2016. It supports Catalan nationalism and Catalan self-government. Its founder is the well-known former editor-in-chief of the liberal-conservative La Vanguardia, José Antich, who was sacked in 2013 due to political disagreements. El Nacional mainly covers regional issues from Catalonia and also features a section called En Blau that provides extensive coverage of Spanish celebrities.
