Based in the city of Linz, Oberösterreichische Nachrichten, is a daily newspaper with a strong regional focus on the state of Upper Austria. The paper was first published on 11 June 1945, immediately after the end of the Second World War, on the initiative of the US occupying forces in Austria. It has been in the sole ownership of the Wimmer/Cuturi family since 1986. Susanne Dickstein has been editor-in-chief since 2021. The imprint states the following about its political orientation: "Oberösterreichische Nachrichten is a non-partisan and independent daily newspaper. It is committed to the pluralistic social order of parliamentary democracy, the principles of the social market economy, the integration of Europe and human rights."
