The LA.LV website was an online version of Latvijas Avīze until 2020, when LA.LV was sold to the private TV broadcaster Rīga TV24 (Latvia's first private television broadcaster). It was agreed that the TV broadcaster would take over the la.lv domain, its software and the website's maintenance costs, while AS Latvijas Mediji would provide newspaper and magazine content for two years. Just a few months later, the website's editor-in-chief Atis Sauka announced that following a relaunch LA.LV would create its own content.
